Phi Chapter of Gamma Xi Phi was established on June 11, 2023, by Rashid Darden and Carolyn Darden-Stutely, a mother-son team who had been performing artistic service in rural Northeastern North Carolina throughout the global pandemic. As members of Beta Lambda, the at-large chapter serving the South Atlantic region of Gamma Xi Phi, the members collected and donated books for the Northampton County Jail, distributed art supplies to Willis Hare Elementary School, and distributed adult coloring books and mental health information to households in Conway and Scotland Neck.

Serving Northampton, Halifax, and Hertford Counties in North Carolina, Phi Chapter looks forward to connection and growth with home-grown artists and craftspeople who make this section of the 252 a great place to live and make a life.
