Friends, As the leading fraternal organization for artists, we stand strong to our vision to serve the community through the Arts. Through all that has been going on in society, from Trayvon Martin to Ferguson; to people being excused for their wrong-doings, artists have been present. With every movement, no matter how big or small, artists have been present.

The Beta Chapter of Gamma Xi Phi Professional Arts Fraternity, Inc.cosponsored "An Evening of Elegance and Art" with Spencer's Photography Services on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Whyndam Resorts at National Harbor, in nearby Fort Washington, Maryland. Brother Shawn Spencer exhibited enlargements of his best photographs and guests were treated to complimentary appetizers. We had an excellent time in fellowship!

On the last day of Black History Month 2015, the Brothers and Sisters of Beta Chapter, Gamma Xi Phi Professional Arts Fraternity, Inc., sponsored "Living Black History: A Poetic Teach-In." At this event, members of the community were treated to readings of some of the favorite poems of the members of the chapter. Poets read include James Weldon Johnson, Phillis Wheatley, Gwendolyn Brooks, Nikki Giovanni, Paul Beatty, and Saul Williams. Photos by Spencer's Photography Services and Rashid Darden.

Beta Chapter of Gamma Xi Phi in Washington, DC continued its relationship with the Life Skills Center of DC with an art supply drive. The Center provides an educational environment for adults with developmental disabilities and the supplies will be used for the arts program. Also collected were used DVDs for the Center's entertainment and recreation area.

Newark, New Jersey, October 15, 2013— Gamma Xi Phi, the professional fraternity for artists, has selected four new honorary initiates: visual artist, curator, and educator Nette Forné Thomas; emcee, producer, and engineer Ess Vee; visual artist and graphic designer Hue.Man; and artist manager, videographer, and web designer Add. The initiation was conducted on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at GlassRoots, Inc., in Newark, New Jersey.
